'If we find something we really like to do - we'll do that better than anything else.' - Jeff Sturges
Who We Are
The Fredericton Makerspace is a non-profit social enterprise incorporated in July of 2013 by a small group of local makers with a common goal: create a setting which fosters learning, creativity, and collaboration.
Goals
Our mission is to build a supportive group of makers regardless of the physical spaces they make in. Do you make in a garage? A basement? Maybe a local library, university, startup incubator or fab lab? We want you to join in the conversation to share expertise and ideas.
The Fredericton Makerspace is forming a new bridge to enable New Brunswickers to stretch their creative capabilities and open new doors - with the help and guidance of the larger community. |
Resources
We are a virtual group of makers that collaborate with various groups around Fredericton and the Maritimes. From middle schools to Universities, libraries and local meet-ups, makers assemble everywhere.
Education
At the core of any makerspace is the sharing of knowledge and skills. This happens organically between members sharing skills and connecting people. The needs and talents of the members will determine what knowledge is most sought after and shared.
Community
The Fredericton Makerspace is truly an inclusive group. Join us on Slack to meet new people, have conversations, share ideas, develop new skills and create. The collaborative learning environment allows people to experiment and try new things, knowing there are others nearby that can help solve a problem or even lend a hand to hold or move something.
